Frequently Asked Questions

1. How many megapixels do I need to print an image out large?
Whilst we cannot give ultimate image limits, please note the following general guidelines. If in doubt, please feel free to email it to us with your preferred print size and we can let you know whether the image quality is suitable for that size or not.

3mp Camera photos = Up to 5"x7" size
5mp Camera photos = Up to A4 (8"x12") size
7mp Camera photos = Up to A3/A3+ (12"x16.5"/13"x19") size
8mp+ Camera/DSLR = A3+ and larger

2. Can I get my image mounted or framed?
Yes certainly! We can provide you with exhibition quality framing as well as blockmounting, and can take care of your needs to give you a one-stop printing experience. Please ask us for a quote when you send through your images along with your requirements.

3. Will my digital photo print come out exactly as edited?
Some cropping may take place if the aspect ratio has been changed. Aspect ratio is the relationship of the width of an image to its height. If you ask for a square print on a standard rectangle sized photo, then it will be cropped to suit.

4. Will my photo print have a white border around it?
By default, no your prints will be printed as borderless to the exact size you requested. If you would prefer (especially if you're planning to frame the image), we can provide a small white border of between 3-5mm in width around the image for minimal extra charge. Please select the checkbox for a white border if required.

5. What equipment do you use?
We only use professional Epson large-format pigment photo printers, including the Epson Stylus Pro 9900 44" printers. This is because of their stance as the leader in print quality and also print archival length (over 100yrs for black and white prints and up to 200yrs for colour prints!).
