Blockmounting & Laminating
Blockmounting
A very cost effective but still highly visually appealing way to mount and display your images is with blockmounting. In the past, this was done quite crudely with large, thick heavy blocks of wood used as the backer, which made the prints quite cumbersome.
Not anymore! We use a much lighter gauge MDF (3-5mm) as the backer for the laminated print to be adhered to, and then finish the print off with a classic 20mm square frame, along with a hanging strip on the back.
Not only is the finished print much lighter and easily managed, it also looks more professional and striking than the traditional blockmounts of yesterday.
Laminating
If you plan on using your prints in high-traffic areas or for display/expo purposes, then laminating them is an easy way to protect them against fingerprints, spills and damage. We can laminate your prints from 8x12" up to 36" wide, using high-quality laminate films.
Please note that the laminating process we use is a "hot-press" system. Whilst all care is taken, there are occasions when slight reactions can occur and small bubbles or lumps can be noticable. We can't take any responsibility for these imperfections, as they are the result of the laminating process.
